Sony May Present Another PlayStation Showcase Later This Year

Sony May Present Another PlayStation Showcase Later This Year

It’s only been about a week since we experienced the last PlayStation Showcase, and the rumors of another one coming soon have already surfaced. An industry insider has revealed that Sony is planning another PlayStation Showcase for later this year. Given the number of anticipated titles that made a no-show in the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase, it only makes sense that another one’s scheduled for this very year.

Another PlayStation Showcase may be scheduled for this year

Industry insider Colin Moriarty revealed in the May 28th episode of Iron Lords Podcast that there will be another showcase later this year. Moriarty said,

“I’ve heard from people that i know and it’s clearly pretty obvious that there will be another showcase later in the year. I assume it’ll be focused on some of these games that are rattling around.”

The highlights of May 2023’s PlayStation Showcase, included the gameplay reveal of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake. Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Alan Wake 2 also got trailer reveals, along with Street Fighter 6’s Story Mode. Additionally, the launch date of Assassin’s Creed Mirage was also announced.

However, there were also several titles that fans expected to see at the PlayStation Showcase of May 24, 2023. Some of these anticipated titles are Marvel’s Wolverine, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Silent Hill 2, Death Stranding 2, and The Last of Us multiplayer game, Factions. Cory Barlog has also been known to be working on unannounced projects for some time, that we haven’t heard much about. Given how anticipated these projects are, we can hope to see more of them soon, and another PlayStation Showcase sure looks like the way to go.
