This information comes from the Twitter user Zuby_Tech, who shared the information on July 26th. The rumoured new PlayStation 5 Pro model, reportedly known as the CFI-1300 series, is said to be an upgrade from the current CFI-1200 series PS5.
One of the big upgrades is the use of a 5nm APU processor, replacing the 7nm APU used in the current PlayStation 5 consoles. This change is expected to result in lower energy consumption and reduced thermal outputs.
Zuby_Tech confirms that the PS5 Pro will not include liquid metal in its cooling system, but they assure that it will “run cooler.”
Earlier reports about the PlayStation 5 Pro were based on a patent filed by PS5 architect Mark Cerny. The patent revealed information about a system designed to offer accelerated ray tracing. According to current reports, the PS5 Pro is expected to be launched in November 2024.
