Sony PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch February 2023 Sales Comparison Revealed; All We Know
If you’re looking into gaming, chances are you might have to choose between PC or console gaming. If you choose PC gaming, then all you need to worry about is upgrading your setups every now and then. If you end up choosing console gaming, then you have whole slew of decisions to make.
Console gaming is dominated by three key players in Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, with their latest offerings, the Xbox Series X/S, the PlayStation 5 and the Switch, respectively. Switch has been in the market relatively longer than the other two, but Sony and Microsoft provide players with higher spec devices.
Recently, popular video games tracking website, VGchartz, has just revealed a PlayStation 5 vs Xbox Series X/S vs Nintendo Switch sales comparison chart over the years of 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 (till February). These charts not only show us the sales performances by the respective consoles through the years, but also the market share each have had during those years.
The PlayStation 5 had 1.15 million units sold in the months of January and February 2023, gaining a year-on-year increase of 99.6% with 571,716 units. The Xbox Series X/S had 0.63 million units sold during these months and was down year-on-year by 12% with 85,444 units. Lastly, the Nintendo Switch had 0.71 million units sold and was also down year-on-year by 16.2% with 137,746 units.
