Sony: Sony FX30 Cinema Line camera launched in India – Times of India

Sony India has unveiled its latest product in its esteemed Cinema Line — the FX30 (ILME-FX30). This new addition is a compact 4K Super 35 cinema camera equipped with various professional features of the Cinema Line, such as Log shooting modes, Dual Base ISO, and user-imported LUTs (Look Up Tables).

Sony FX30 comes in two versions — FX30 (Body + XLR Handle) and FX30B (Body only). The FX30 (Body+XLR Handle) is priced at Rs 199,990, whereas the FX30 (Body only) costs Rs 179,990.
The FX30 camera will be available at all Sony Center and Alpha Flagship stores, major electronics stores, and e-commerce websites such as Amazon and Flipkart, starting February 15. Customers who purchase the FX30 or FX30B camera will receive an extended warranty of 2+1 years and a free BC-QZ1 charger priced at Rs. 6,790.

Sony says that the FX30 camera is designed for budding filmmakers and offers cinematic expression with its advanced imaging systems. It has a 20.1 megapixel APS-C Exmor R CMOS sensor and a dual base ISO. It supports Log shooting modes for greater flexibility in colour grading.
The camera also includes built-in cinematic looks, such as Sony’s S-Cinetone, and can shoot single stills. The FX30 comes with a heat dissipation system that allows uninterrupted 4K/60p recording.
The camera uses the BIONZ XR processing engine for advanced image processing and can shoot 4K Super 35 at up to 60fps. The FX30B offers high frame rates of up to 120fps and can output 4K, 16-bit RAW via an HDMI Type-A connector.
The FX30 comes with Sony’s autofocus system, offering various options such as Real-time Eye AF for humans, animals, or birds, Real-time Tracking, and a range of customizable AF settings.
The FX30 is a small, lightweight camera with a flat-top design and attachment points for accessories. It has an XLR handle unit for capturing low-angle shots and high-quality audio through two XLR audio inputs, a 3.5mm stereo mini jack, and a multi-interface shoe. Additionally, it has an internal stereo microphone for audio recording.
The FX30 and FX30B models come with a pair of memory card slots that support CFexpress Type A cards and SDXC/SDHC cards, allowing creators to explore a diverse range of shooting possibilities. Additionally, the FX30 can accommodate high-capacity CFexpress Type A memory cards.
