sony: Sony set to unveil the A7 IV mirrorless camera on October 21 – Times of India

Sony has teased the launch of a new Alpha camera on October 21 at 10 am ET. The company will be unveiling the long-awaited full-frame A7 IV mirrorless model, reports Engadget.
The report also revealed most of the main specs, like a 33-megapixel sensor and 4K 60p video with 10-bit All-I XAVC recording. Although, Sony has not officially confirmed the name of the camera or any of its specifications.
Expected specifications
It is expected to be a full-frame mirrorless camera that will use the Sony E-mount for lenses. It will feature a 33MP full-frame sensor which will reportedly be accompanied by the Bionz XR image processor that Sony uses in its flagship cameras.
The camera is expected to have Eye AF support which uses Sony’s hybrid focusing mechanism along with AI algorithms to offer consistent subject tracking and recognition of the subject. Eye AF will also apply to animals to help in wildlife photography and will also be present in video shooting mode as well.
The Sony A7 IV is also expected to record 4K videos at 60fps. Eye AF will also be applicable at 4K 60fps, which can be relevant in extreme, fast shooting conditions such as live sports. The camera will also apparently offer 10-bit video recording at 4:2:2 subsampling and HLG colour profile, which will help in post-production.
It is also expected to sport 10fps continuous shooting, but the exact specifics remain undisclosed.
The upcoming camera will also apparently feature S-Log3 and the Sony S-Cinetone LUT profile that was present in the A7S III. This camera is also expected to come with a multi-angle articulating LCD display and a new generation of image stabilisation in the camera body.
It will reportedly have 5GHz Wi-Fi and 10Gbps USB for data transfer and live streaming at higher resolutions and, “15+ stops dynamic range” as well.
Sony will reveal more details at the upcoming launch event. The event on October 21 will also tell us about the pricing of the camera, as well as its availability across markets including India.
