Sony is set to unveil its highly anticipated update to the WF-1000XM4 earbuds, bringing an end to the long-awaited upgrade after two years. The renowned Japanese electronic company recently teased a global launch date for the premium true wireless earbuds. Fans can mark their calendars for July 24th when Sony plans to introduce the world to the new Sony WF-1000XM5.

In a tweet, Sony provided a glimpse of the upcoming earbuds and confirmed the official launch date. While the design has already been leaked prior, the focus of the WF-1000XM5 is expected to be on enhanced Active Noise Cancellation capabilities, ensuring an immersive audio experience.

The WF-1000XM5 earbuds are designed to be lightweight, weighing only 5.9g, and feature Sony’s impressive 8.4mm large “Dynamic Driver X” for powerful sound reproduction. Equipped with two custom processors and dual feedback microphones, these earbuds offer environment-adaptive noise cancellation. Each earbud is equipped with three microphones, supporting Precise Voice Pickup technology and bone conduction sensors. Additionally, users can expect Hi-Res Audio and DSEE Extreme standards for an enhanced audio experience.

The earbuds come with a charging case that houses a 500mAh battery pack, providing a total battery life of 24 hours. With Bluetooth 5.3, the WF-1000XM5 supports multi-point connections, and the earbuds themselves boast an IPX4 water-resistant rating. The touch controls are expected to be similar to those of its predecessor, while fast charging ensures a full charge in just 2 hours. Pricing and availability details for the WF-1000XM5 have yet to be announced, and Sony India has not disclosed any specific plans regarding a launch in the market at this time.
