South Africa team lands in Delhi for five-match T20I series against India | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The South African team reached Delhi on Thursday morning for a five-match T20I series against India, beginning June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here.
KL Rahul is India’s captain for this series and wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is the vice-captain for the hosts. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested, while Dinesh Karthik, Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya are making their comeback after a stupendous show in IPL 2022.
Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh have received a maiden India call-up. Malik, the quick bowler from Kashmir, took 21 wickets in 13 matches for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in this season of the IPL.
The South African team is being led by Temba Bavuma. The visitors will start their practice on June 3, although the team has to go through RT-PCR tests on a daily basis.
In January, India toured South Africa for a three-match ODI series in which the visitors suffered a clean sweep.
India and South Africa have faced each other in 15 T20Is, with India winning nine matches and South Africa emerging victorious in six.
Earlier, a source from DDCA told ANI that both the team will undergo RT-PCR testing on their arrival at their respective hotels since there is no bubble for this tournament, so both the teams will undergo regular testing for Covid-19.
