Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Doc Ock Becomes Schoolgirl in Manga Spinoff
Marvel Entertainment and Shueisha have joined forces for a new spinoff manga based on the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film.
Titled Spider-Man: Octopus Girl, this manga will feature the creative talents of Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, the duo behind the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga. As reported by ANN, the manga is set to make its debut on June 20, on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ manga app.
What the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse manga spinoff is about
Details about the amusing story of the manga are already out. According to the synopsis, the iconic supervillain Doctor Octopus falls into a coma. When he eventually wakes up, he discovers that his consciousness has somehow transferred into the body of a Japanese middle school student named Otoha Okutamiya.
The teaser visual of the manga shows Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus and presumably the character design of Okutamiya.
We don’t know much apart from the story outline about Spider-Man: Octopus Girl. So, we will just have to wait for the manga to drop on the release date.
Recently, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s directors talked about paying homage to comic book creators via the use of the film’s various animation styles.
