While the first trailer didn’t delve much into the live-action side of Spider-Man, the new footage finally acknowledges the existence of the MCU.
In the trailer, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy come face-to-face Spider-Man 2099 aka Miguel O’Hara voiced by Oscar Isaac. The latter is shown to be apprehensive of Morales joining the multiversal Spider-Man club. However, that’s not his only gripe, as he is also disappointed by MCU Spidey and the events surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In the MCU Spider-Man threequel, Tom Holland’s version of the web slinger, employed the help of the two other live-action Spidey variants played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Furthermore, he also asked Doctor Strange to erase Peter Parker from everyone’s memory.
Judging by O’Hara’s comments on the events leading up to Doctor Strange’s spell, it seems like his magic has worked in the confines of the MCU. As for the MCU’s naming, O’Hara pointed out that the MCU is Earth-199999 instead of Earth-616. (Maybe Kevin Feige have a problem with that)
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse releases in theatres across Indian in 10 languages on June 2, 2023.
