Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to Release in 10 Languages in India Including Hindi, Tamil, and More

Marvel animation is back on the forefront later this year, with the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will see the continuation of Miles Morales’ journey in the Marvel multiverse, as more Spideys join the fray. Alongside Morales, Peter B. Parker and Gwen Stacy from the original, the new film stars Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Punk, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Woman, Insomniac’s PlayStation Spider-Man, and more.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse releases across theatres in India on June 2, 2023, with distribution handled by Sony Pictures Entertainment India. It will be the first time in Indian cinema history that a film will be released theatrically in 10 different languages. This includes English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Bengali.

So far, no details have been revealed for the voice cast for the Indian regional language dub of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Hopefully, we can expect to hear some big names from the Indian film industry to be part of the upcoming sequel.

“Spider-Man is the most loved super-hero in India, and any Spider-Man film is indeed a true and bonafide pan-India phenomenon,” said Shony Panjikaran, General Manager and Head of Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI), India. “With the growing consumption of content across regions and languages, we wanted every household in India to experience their favourite superhero in their own language.”

Along with the release in 10 different languages, the film will have Indian representation in the form of Pavitr Prabhakar aka Spider-Man India, who will be voiced by Karan Soni of Deadpool-fame.
