Splinter Cell: Ubisoft Teases a Remake With Concept Images as the Original Available for Free Now

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell celebrated its 20th anniversary on November 17, with the date marking the title’s release on the original Xbox.

The Ubisoft title ushered in a new era of action games, with Splinter Cell largely focusing on stealth elements, which has since become a revolution. The series spawned several titles in the coming years, with the last one titled Blacklist arriving in 2013.

We didn’t hear much about the franchise until last year, when Ubisoft made a surprise announcement about the original Splinter Cell being remade for modern consoles and PC.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebration, Ubisoft recently shared a video featuring four Ubisoft Toronto developers, who are working on the remake.

The video sees the developers talking about the impact that the original Splinter Cell had on action gaming. Furthermore, they also share some titbits about the remake, which is currently in development. In a previous report, the developers had already confirmed that they will be updating the story of the game for a “modern-day audience.”

Along with that, Ubisoft has also teased the return of NSA agent Sam Fisher with several images of the concept art for the upcoming remake. The celebrations for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell doesn’t end there, as Ubisoft has also announced that the original title is now available to download for free.

The 2022 title can currently be claimed for free from the Ubisoft Store until the end of the month to experience what fans of the series have clamored about for years.

Along with the free Splinter Cell, Ubisoft is also offering a variety of deals, as part of Black Friday.

With Black Friday, Ubisoft is holding its biggest sale from November 17-30. The platform currently offers up to 80% off on several titles like Far Cry 3, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, and more.

Additionally, titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege costs a third of their original prices. You can also get the first month of Ubisoft+ for 50%, which features over 100 PC games from Ubisoft.
