Spurs star Lloris ‘offered incredible Saudi deal’ as Levy eyes trio replacements

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has been given the opportunity to triple his current wages in Saudi Arabia as the Frenchman could be set to leave north London this summer. The 36-year-old has one more year left on his contract after this season but the club have been planning for his successor after a dip in form and injuries which have forced Fraser Forster to see out the remainder of the campaign as Spurs’ number one.

The Times claim Lloris has been offered the chance to triple his £100,000-a-week wages in Saudi Arabia, though it is not the only offer on the table for the Spurs stopper – it is, however, by far the most lucrative one.

The report states that Lloris has not yet made a decision on his future, though Spurs would be owed a fee if he were to move as the skipper is waiting until a new head coach is named before confirming whether he will leave or stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lloris is planning for talks with club chief Daniel Levy at the end of the season, though an injury picked up in the 6-1 defeat to Newcastle ruled the goalkeeper out of the remainder of the season and Forster has since deputised ably.

Lloris is just the latest player to be linked with a financially-tempting move to the Saudi Pro League, as Cristiano Ronaldo made the jump to the region at the end of last year as he sensationally signed for Al Nassr after his Manchester United contract was terminated.

Plans have been put into motion over his Lloris’ successor in north London, as Levy has identified Premier League trio David Raya, Jordan Pickford and Robert Sanchez as potential summer moves that may or may not depend on Lloris leaving the club, according to the Times.

Raya has been locked in contract discussions at Brentford and is unlikely to sign a new deal, though Spurs will likely face competition from United if they do pursue a deal for the Spain international.

England number one Pickford could be available for a cut-price fee if Everton fail to avoid relegation, but their chances of survival were significantly boosted after Monday’s 5-1 win away to Brighton.

Sanchez has found himself out of favour under Roberto De Zerbi, as the Seagulls boss has preferred Jason Steele due to his ability on the ball, though there is a chance that he could come back into the fray after Steele shipped five including an own goal to Everton on Monday.
