Paramount has confirmed that Star Trek: Lower Decks’ fourth season will premiere on September 7 on its streaming service.
During a San Diego Comic-Con 2023 panel, Paramount confirmed that the animated series will debut in early September and dropped a piece of teaser art for the next year. The poster, which you can see below, pays homage to Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
Star Trek: Lower Decks debuted in 2020 and focuses on a low-ranking support crew aboard the Cerritos. Alongside a fourth season premiering soon, it was previously confirmed that a fifth season is currently in the works.
While IGN did not review the third season of Lower Decks, my colleague Scott Collura reviewed the series premiere back in 2020. In his review, he said, “[s]o far, Star Trek: Lower Decks is a great addition to the pantheon of Gene Roddenberry’s universe, and one clearly guided by the hand of a creator who truly loves and knows Star Trek.”
In addition to Star Trek: Lower Decks news, Paramount also shared a first look at the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery, which is set to premiere sometime early next year. We also learned that episode nine in the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which premieres on August 3, will be a musical episode.
