Star Wars Fans Are Obsessed With The Mandalorian’s Final Scene

Spoiler Warning: This article spoils the end of The Mandalorian Season 3. Turn back if you haven’t watched it yet!

The Mandalorian Season 3 came to a close last night, and fans can’t stop talking about the finale’s ending moments.

After an explosive episode that ties up the events of the last three seasons, Din Djarin and his now formally-adopted son/apprentice Din Grogu retire on Nevarro with plans to take up contract work. The Mandalorian leaves us with an idyllic shot of Mando kicking his feet up at his new home while watching Din Grogu use the Force to play with a frog. It’s a very peaceful ending that sets the stage for smaller-scale adventures to come in future seasons of The Mandalorian.

Many Star Wars fans on the internet are obsessed with Din Djarin and Din Grogu’s new laid-back life, taking to Reddit to share their love for Grogu’s adoption and the final scene as a whole.

One post from JenDomOrc simply says, “This makes me ridiculously happy,” with lots of comments sharing the exact same sentiment. CartridgeGenGamer commented, “Din & Din Jr what a perfect Star Wars moment,” while another user called it their favorite shot of The Mandalorian.

“This is my favourite shot! Ever since that episode in the first season when Din Djarin contemplated leaving Grogu in that water village and walking away, I just wanted them to have a chill life together,” Responsible_Cloud_92 wrote. “This just makes me happy he’s verbally accepted his role as a dad and is chilling with his kid.”

The Mandalorian has often been compared to a video game, as Mando is sent on open world-like sidequests throughout the series.

“Mando is just playing a Star Wars RPG. Complete sidequests. Get new ship. Get a player house. Eventually get around to completing some of the main story,” GardenSquid1 wrote.

Another post made light of Din Djarin’s decision to adopt Grogu, saying he did so simply to avoid embarking on another lengthy sidequest.

The video game comparisons didn’t stop there, as another post titled “You unlocked the Good Ending” was accompanied with art of the new family at their home.

Mando and Grogu’s relationship took a bit of a backseat in Season 3, as Bo-Katan’s story on Mandalore took center stage. So, fans were happy to see the show’s central relationship reclaim the spotlight in the series finale.

Some fans thought the final shot felt like the end of The Mandalorian, but we know that there’s still more to come from Din Djarin and Din Grogu. Showrunner Jon Favreau has previously revealed that The Mandalorian Season 4 has already been written. Dave Filoni’s upcoming Star Wars movie also appears to tie together his slate of Disney+ shows, which includes The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka.

For now, Star Wars fans will turn their attention to Ahsoka, which is coming to Disney+ starting this August.
