Ubisoft is currently working on its much anticipated open-world Star Wars game known as “Project Helix”. The company first announced the game back in 2021 and it hasn’t shared anything about it since. Now, latest information has revealed that the game is expected to launch in early 2024. Let’s check all the details about the upcoming open-world Star Wars game here.
Ubisoft may launch its’ Star Wars Game next year
The Kotaku report cited two sources close to the matter claimed that the development of the Star Wars project isn’t going well. However, Ubisoft is hoping that the game will become first hit game outside the Assassin’s Creed franchise for the company in recent years. Even with the issues in development, Ubisoft is hoping to release the game in this fiscal year, which started in April 2023 and will conclude in March 2024.
Ubisoft recently announced its’ largest operating loss of $500 million. However, it also released a slate for upcoming game releases till March 2024. This list of games includes Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and “another large game”. The mention of the unnamed large game could also point towards the Star Wars open-world game.
In addition, Ubisoft is planning to add 3,000 more developers to the company to work on the multiple already announced Assassin’s Creed projects. It has been some tough couple of years for Ubisoft as it works towards creating and releasing a blockbuster game.
Constant delays for projects such as Skull and Bones has also not helped Ubisoft. The game publisher and maker will showcase its upcoming games at the Ubisoft Forward livestream event on June 12, 2023.
