Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Gets First Reveal at Star Wars Celebration, But No Release Date

Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed a first look at the Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series starring Jude Law. No release date was given, but the series is still scheduled for sometime in 2023.

Announced during the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase during Star Wars Celebration, Disney also showed off a trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series.

The trailer really honed in on the show’s Goonies inspirations, showing a montage of kids in class, going through a residential area, running through a forest, and driving a ship, with the narration, “Don’t you ever wanna do anything exciting?” Jude Law’s Jedi character was also briefly shown.

Skeleton Crew’s cast took the stage, including Jude Law alongside some of the child actors that will star in the series: Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith.

“I was six years old when this galaxy, this world gripped me, blew my mind,” Law said. “And I feel like I’ve been in preparation ever since. It was a total pleasure, I think one of the highlights was working with the incredible, talented people working behind the scenes. It was a true dream come true.”

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni also confirmed the directors that will tackle different episodes of Skeleton Crew: The Daniels, Jon Watts, David Lowery, Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung.

Skeleton Crew was announced at Star Wars Celebration last year. Disney hasn’t said much since then though, as we’d only learned through various sources that it’s wrapped filming and has an episode directed by Everything Everywhere’s Daniels Duo.
