Starfield Will Only Let Players Romance the Four Main Constellation NPCs, Reveals Todd Howard
Starfield will feature over 1,000 planets, as recently revealed, with approximately 100 of them hosting life. However, when it comes to seeking love for their characters, players will have only four options to choose from. Bethesda director Todd Howard has unveiled that Starfield will provide fully fleshed out romance options for just four characters in the game.
Starfield’s romance options
The upcoming RPG game set in outer space boasts detailed features in areas such as space exploration, weaponry, player choices, spaceships, and character customisation. Considering the vastness of the game and the multitude of things to explore, it is understandable why Bethesda chose to focus the romance aspect on just four characters. These four characters are known as the Constellation companions.
In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Todd Howard mentioned that long-term romance options in the game would be limited to the four co-workers of a character. During the interview, a member of the audience asked Howard, “Are the Constellation companions the only ones that can be romanced?” to which Howard replied, “The four main Constellation [NPCs] are the ones that support full questlines and romance.”
It is also a better option to create focused romance options rather than shallow romance storylines with random NPCs in the game. Starfield is set to be released on September 6, 2023, for PC, Xbox Series X, and Series S.
