His career-high performance improved the team’s inconsistent record to 18-19 and gave them their first set of consecutive wins in over a month.
Here’s a look at some of the remarkable stats from Brown’s performance:
11: 50-point games in Celtics history
Brown’s 50-piece against the Magic is the 11th 50-point game in franchise history with Brown becoming the seventh player to join the illustrious list that already includes Larry Bird, Jayson Tatum, Isaiah Thomas, Sam Jones, Kevin McHale and Paul Pierce.
Brown’s career-high tally is tied with Stephen Curry for the second-highest by any player in the league this season, only trailing Kevin Durant’s 51-point performance in Detroit on Dec. 12.
It also put Brown alongside Curry as the only players this season to have multiple 45-point games in the NBA this season.
4: 50-10 games in Celtics history
Along with the 50, Brown also finished with 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks while playing 46 of a possible 53 minutes.
His 50-11 double-double put him alongside some elite company in franchise history.
21: Brown’s 4th quarter points
Early on, it looked like Boston was taking care of business as they held their largest lead of 14 in the first half. However, the Magic fought back and even went on to hold their largest lead of 14 in the fourth quarter.
Despite the fightback, Brown had other ideas and took over late.
Brown had 21 points in the fourth quarter, nearly outscoring the Magic (23) by himself. Over the final 7:12 minutes of the fourth quarter, he scored all but four of the team’s final 25 points, sparking them back from their 14-point deficit.
In overtime, over the final two minutes, Brown scored or assisted on seven of the team’s 11 points, including this flashy behind-the-back pass to Josh Richardson in transition.
19: Brown’s career-high field goals
With this game, multiple of Brown’s career-highs have come against the Orlando Magic. After nailing a career-high 10 3-pointers in Mar. 2021, Brown nailed a career-high tally 19 field goals in this game.
For a 50-point performance, Brown had remarkable shooting efficiency – 65.5 percent from the field (19-of-29), 50.0 percent (5-of-10) from beyond the arc and 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from the free-throw line.
This outing eclipses Brown’s previous career-high tally of 46 points, which he set in a double-overtime loss on the opening night of the 2021-22 season.
