Stranger Things Defeated by One Piece as Most Watched Show of 2022

For the longest time, Stranger Things has been the most watched TV show of 2022. Since the arrival of Stranger Things season 4, fans just cannot get enough of it. Many fans have also rewatched the entire series during this time. For weeks on end, we saw the series topping the Netflix charts. However, the show couldn’t maintain its position as number 1, and it has now been overtaken by a popular anime.

That popular anime is none other than one of the longest running animes out there, One Piece. As reported by TV Time (via Screenrant), it has been understood that One Piece reigns supreme over all the shows from 2022. TV Time is a platform that helps track viewership for TV and movies, and according to them Stranger Things comes in at number 2.

Their list consists of the top 6 shows of 2022, with One Piece from Fuji TV at number one. Stranger Things coming in second, followed by Grey’s Anatomy at number 3. Finally, the number 4, 5, and 6 positions have been taken over by The Office, House of the Dragon and The Walking Dead, respectively.

Although Stranger Things became the most watched English show in Netflix’s history, it still wasn’t able to reach number one. That is mostly because of the staunch following that One Piece has created over the years, with new content still coming out each week. At the time of writing, One Piece has released 1043 episodes and it seems to be going strong heading into 2023i, with Netflix even developing live-action film based on the franchise.
