Stranger Things Eddie Munson Actor Will Lead A Quiet Place: Day One

Joseph Quinn, who recently made a name for himself as punk heartthrob Eddie Munson in Stranger Things, is currently in negotiations to join A Quiet Place: Day One in a leading role. Quinn would star alongside Lupita Nyong’o in the spinoff film from Paramount.

While not much is known about the prequel, the film will hopefully set up a potential Quiet Place universe that Paramount can build upon for years to come. The spinoff will be directed and written by Michael Sarnoski, who previously directed the Nic Cage film Pig.

For Quinn, the role represents a blossoming career that has taken off since the fourth season of Stranger Things introduced (and then killed) Eddie Munson. The actor earned rave reviews for his role, and the season continued to break records for Netflix viewership. Quinn has also appeared in BBC One’s Les Miserables and 2018’s Overlord as well as a small role in Game of Thrones.

A Quiet Place: Day One is once again based on an idea from John Krasinski, who directed and starred in the first two Quiet Place films. While it hasn’t been entirely confirmed, it’s unlikely that Krasinski and co-star Emily Blunt will reprise their roles for the installment. Currently, the franchise is developing the third film in the series with Krasinski returning to direct. That film is currently slated for a 2025 release.

A Quiet Place Part II, the first Covid-era theatrical-only release, opened to $57 million at the domestic box office in May 2021 and has earned $297 million worldwide. The first film has grossed over $340 million worldwide off of a $17 million budget.

A Quiet Place: Day One is currently set for a March 8, 2024 release date.
