Stream Britbox for half price with this new perk for Amazon Prime members
Amazon Prime Day kickstarts on Monday June 21, but you don’t have to wait until then to find some decent discounts. The US retailer has confirmed that Prime members can now stream shows from Britbox for half the cost. That means you can stream a swathe of original and fan-favourite shows to your TV for just £2.99 per month, rather than the usual £5.99 a month.
This Amazon Prime-exclusive discount lasts for three months, before switching back to the standard cost. Of course, you can cancel at any time – so if you’ve already binged on everything you wanted to watch on Britbox after the first three months, you can leave without any penalty.
If you’re weren’t aware, BritBox is home to some of the most popular boxsets from BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5 as well as movies from Film 4. Alongside classic comedies and dramas, BritBox has also produced a number of exclusive original productions, including the critically-acclaimed revival of puppet-based satire Spitting Image.

Alongside that Britbox deal, Amazon is also offering Prime members the chance to get six months of free Amazon Music Unlimited when they buy an Echo Dot 4th Gen – priced at £49.99. This subscription service offers access to millions of songs and playlists and usually costs £7.99 per month so there’s a decent saving to be grabbed.

Most of the main deals will begin on Monday with the sale lasting for 48 hours. Amazon is promising huge savings across a range of products including lifestyle, fashion, toys and tech.
Amazon is boasting that it will be offering a whopping two million deals across the world with its own-brand Echo speakers, Fire tablets and Kindles expected to see some of the biggest price cuts. In fact, Amazon has already confirmed that some of its devices will see discounts of up to 50 percent.
“This Prime Day, we’re offering Prime members millions of deals from great brands which we know our customers love. We’re also continuing our support for the small businesses selling on Amazon by running our ‘spend £10 get £10 offer’, which will help thousands of smaller companies in the run up to Prime Day,” said John Boumphrey, Amazon UK Country Manager.
“As a Prime Day first, we’re also delighted to be increasing our donations to charity when customers shop through AmazonSmile, so there is plenty for everyone this year.”
To get these deals you must be a Prime member which costs £7.99 per month. Amazon is offering a 30-day free trial for anyone who hasn’t used the service before.
