Sunday Night Football DraftKings Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 6 Seahawks-Steelers Showdown tournaments

The Steelers host a banged-up Seahawks squad on Week 6 Sunday Night Football. Not only will the Seahawks be without quarterback Russell Wilson (finger), but starting running back Chris Carson (neck) will also be sidelined. We’re fading the top Seahawks receivers in our DraftKings Showdown lineup, largely thanks to Wilson’s absence. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are both certainly capable of delivering big scores, but the latter missed valuable practice reps this week, and we can’t expect a refined degree of chemistry to have been developed in such a short period of time. At the very least, we’re not willing to bet on that with our DFS dollars.

Before we get into our Seahawks-Steelers lineup, here are the notable DraftKings Showdown rules: It’s full-point PPR, and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards,  100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Seahawks vs. Steelers

$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.

Captain (1.5x value, 1.5x points): RB Najee Harris, Steelers ($17,700)

Harris has accounted for 47.1 percent of the Steelers’ touches this season, and we’re not likely to see that total wane on Sunday night. He’s scored a touchdown and/or earned the three-point bonus for eclipsing 100 yards rushing or receiving in each of his past four games. His liberal usage combined with his improving efficiency makes him a lock for the Captain’s role in spite of a hefty price tag.

FLEX: WR Diontae Johnson, Steelers ($9,800)

Johnson leads the wide receiver room in targets (37), receptions (25), and touchdowns (3). He’s earned 10-plus targets in three of four contests, and he should be in store for another double-digit total in that department after being held to two in Week 5. Seattle has surrendered the second-most passing yards per game (305.6) and ranks 28th in pass defense DVOA. On paper, Seattle is a defense the Steelers should be able to successfully exploit.

FLEX: WR Chase Claypool, Steelers ($8,800)

Claypool has come to life after a slow start and appeared to be fully recovered from the hamstring ailment that kept him out of Week 4’s contest. JuJu Smith-Schuster’s shulder season-ending injury will require multiple players on the offense to pick up some slack, including Claypool. Smith-Schuster accounted for 28 targets and 18 touches – including three carries — in his five games, and Claypool figures to usurp a healthy portion of that opportunity.

FLEX: RB Alex Collins, Seahawks ($6,800)

This is purely a bet on volume. Collins will not find smooth sledding against a stout Steelers run defense, but he’s in line for a heavy workload in place of Chris Carson, who landed on IR this week with a neck injury. He handled 17 touches as a starter in last week’s loss to the Rams, and we’re banking on a similar total on Sunday night.

FLEX: TE Pat Freiermuth, Steelers ($2,800)

Both Freiermuth and Eric Ebron ($3,400) are appropriate choices, so feel free to submit multiple lineups to cover your bases. We’re going to side with Freiermuth here though thanks to more targets (13 to 11), receptions (11 to five), and touchdowns (one to zero).

FLEX: WR Freddie Swain, Seahawks ($2,400)

Simply put, Swain is a lotto ticket, but the risk is worth the potential payoff. Swain is the clear No. 3 in the Seahawks’ pass-catching pecking order, but he’s averaged 13.4 yards per catch and has pulled in a pair of touchdowns. He’s not going to overtake Metcalf or Lockett anytime soon, but a new quarterback means new chemistry. At least for the next week or two, Swain could receive enough opportunity to provide a profit on his modest price tag.
