SuperGaming has partnered with Google to bring mouse accessibility features for Indus, their upcoming battle royale game. Through Project Gameface, Indus will allow players to control in-game actions such as movement, aiming, and shooting through their facial movements and gestures. Here is all you need to know about it.
Indus Accessibility Features
SuperGaming is doing its part to bring its upcoming Indus battle royale game to a wider audience in India and worldwide. The company announced its partnership with Google to bring mouse control and character movement accessibility through facial movements and gestures in a recent announcement on social media. Project Gameface at Google I/O Connect in Bengaluru introduced a new way for gamers to interact with Indus. This essentially would allow anyone to use Gameface to play Indus, eliminating the need for an additional controller or equipment. Here is how it works:
Players can raise their eyebrows to click and drag. They can open their mouth to move the cursor. Raising eyebrows would move the character forward, and lowering the eyebrows can move them backwards. Also, opening their mouth and raising their eyebrows will allow players to sprint. Left mouth movement will trigger shoot action while right mouth movement will trigger aiming-down-sight (ADS).
Accessibility features are always welcomed, not just in gaming. Innovations in game development, graphics, and features push the industry forward. However, it is just as crucial to implement newer technology for accessibility to games, making games more accessible to more people. We have seen God of War as a prime example of bringing so many accessibility features to open up the world of Kratos to so many more gamers.
Indus PC Build and Platform Release Update
The Indus game showcased in the accessibility video is the PC build, as confirmed by SuperGaming. While the company gave fans a look at how Indus’ PC build is looking, it remains unclear which PC games platform the upcoming battle royale game will be releasing on. Indus might release on Steam or Epic Games, or maybe both.
Indus Esports Community Playtest 4
In other Indus-related news, SuperGaming recently held its fourth esports community playtest in Pune. The company has released an after-movie featuring the highlight moments of that playtest which is viewable below.
