Superman: Legacy: James Gunn Talks About Including Multiple Superheroes in the Movie, and Other Latest Updates From DC
James Gunn is known to be hiring multiple actors for his upcoming Superman: Legacy. The latest known cast additions are Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern. James Gunn has now recently addressed fan concerns about what these heroes might be doing in a movie delving into Superman in his youth.
James Gunn on portraying Superman and Clark Kent’s worlds
Superman: Legacy director and DC co-CEO James Gunn explained that Superman is a “man of two worlds”. One includes Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, while the other includes superheroes and Superman’s “meta human compatriots”. The world that Superman: Legacy will portray is already one where “superheroes exist and have existed for quite a while”. James Gunn thinks that he won’t do justice about Clark Kent and Superman’s story, without including both these areas of his lives.
After much anticipation, it was recently announced that David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast as Superman (Clark Kent) and Lois Lane in the upcoming movie. Superman: Legacy will be the first movie that will mark the beginning of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC reboot, and it is scheduled for July 11, 2025. It will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas.”
