Mitchell’s unbeaten 72-run knock, aided by James Neesham’s quickfire cameo of 27 runs off just 11 balls, helped New Zealand defeat England by five wickets to enter the final.

“Most players have played together in various tournaments, knew it was going to be a great game of cricket. Thought they had a pretty competitive total. But just by staying in there, building the partnerships and cashing in on some moments, some matchups (we managed to win),” said Williamson at the post-match presentation.
“Definitely, Mitchell’s character is something that stood out today. He has batted beautifully in a high-pressure situation…A fantastic knock from Daryl. (He) Hit the big shots when it counted.
“T20 cricket – it’s a game of small margins…. surface, the short side – these things can be match-defining. Neesham came out and hit the ball hard, that’s what he does. (He) Changed the momentum really,” he added.

Earlier, Moeen Ali and Dawid Malan played knocks of 51 and 42 respectively as England scored 166/4.
Australia take on unbeaten Pakistan in the second semifinal on Thursday in Dubai.
“We’ll be following that match between Australia and Pakistan – (it is) going to be fantastic. We know we have another challenge coming up (in the final) and we’ll change our focus after tonight (Wednesday),” said Williamson.
