Tammy Abraham and Roma teammates in furious confrontation with fans after 6-1 thrashing

Tammy Abraham and several other members of the Roma squad were at the heart of a heated confrontation between the players and 400 angry fans that made the trip to the Arctic Circle to watch Jose Mourinho side’s crumble against minnows Bodo/Glimt. The Norwegian champions, who enjoyed one of the greatest nights in their 104-year history, romped to a 6-1 demolition of the Giallorossi, who were put to the sword in brutal fashion.

Two-time Champions League winner Mourinho was clearly not expecting a tough night in Scandinavia as he heavily rotated his starting XI.

Yet it was soon clear by half-time with Roma trailing 2-1 that this was not going to be the routine victory that many had anticipated.

A triple substitution at the break was not enough to inspire a comeback and star players Abraham and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini were also introduced to the fray by Mourinho in a desperate bid to turn the game around.

But Bodo/Glimt ran riot, eventually notching six goals to put the European giants to shame.

One fan leans over in a bid to get closer to Abraham, sarcastically clapping in his direction.

The striker is soon joined by several members of the Roma coaching staff, who later pull the England international back.

It’s the first time ever that a team managed by Mourinho has conceded six goals – a stat that will sicken the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss.

After the match, the so-called Special One sensationally claimed that the Norwegian champions had more quality on the pitch in their starting XI than his side.

“Bodo/Glimt has more quality than us, at least tonight it was like that,” he told Sky Italia.

“The starters of our opponents have more quality than the team I sent on the field today from the first minute.”

He later added that he told his squad that they are carrying passengers, comments that are unlikely to go down well in the Roma dressing room.

“I was honest with the players. I have never hidden that it is a team with many limits: one thing is the top 12-13 players, another one the rest of the squad,” he added.
