Taste Profile: Spotify launches ‘Exclude from your Taste Profile’ feature: What it is and how to enable it – Times of India

Spotify has released a much-awaited feature that allows users to exclude playlists from impacting recommendations. Called ‘Exclude from your Taste Profile‘, it helps listeners keep their favourite playlist untouched from personalised recommendations. Once the feature is enabled, it will exclude past and future listening of the playlist from your Taste Profile.
What is a Taste Profile?
Taste Profile is Spotify’s interpretation of users’ taste based on what they listen to and how they listen to it. It helps the company personalize their Spotify experience by informing their recommendations and experiences with your taste summaries and personalized playlists, including your top songs and Daily Mixes.
How ‘Exclude from your Taste Profile’ works
With the touch of a button, Exclude from your Taste Profile lets users keep selected playlists from being included in their Taste Profile and reduces the impact they have on their recommendations. It allows them to tell Spotify which playlist they did like to impact recommendations less, tailoring Spotify’s personalization experience as per the needs.

When users exclude a playlist from their Taste Profile, they can still easily find it in their Home tab, and “liked” songs within the playlist will also be unaffected. Once Exclude from your Taste Profile is enabled, it will exclude past and future listening of the playlist from your Taste Profile.
Also note that if a user has a change of heart later on, the feature can easily be turned off at any time using the same process.
How to set up Exclude from your Taste Profile

Availability
The latest feature is rolling out to users on web, desktop, iOS, and Android starting today (February 9).
