Tata EVs at Auto Expo 2023: Dual motor Harrier EV with AWD, Sierra EV, sporty Tiago EV Blitz

Tata Harrier EV and Tata Sierra EV design showcase at Auto Expo 2023

The Tata Harrier EV showcased is a close-to-production model and much of Harrier’s exterior appeal has been updated to bring the 2019 SUV up to speed. The Harrier’s sheet metal remains intact possibly to keep costs in check. The front fascia now gets a blocked out grille, slightly altered LED DRL eyebrows, a redone and much sleeker headlamp cluster and redesigned air dam. The rear gets an edgy new design for the LED tail lamps which are now connected via a light bar. The rear bumper too has been resurfaced. In a quest for greater aerodynamic efficiency, the Harrier EV now adopts a set of sporty-looking alloys.

Tata also took the wraps off of the Tata Sierra EV at the Auto Expo 2023. This iteration of the Sierra EV is closer to the production-spec model. The vehicle has adopted a more conventional five-door design but has managed to retain most of the design cues from the previous Sierra concept. The overall design is butch and upright and the EV gets flared wheel arches and a large set of dual-tone alloys. The Sierra EV will come with loads of new features such as a panoramic sunroof, digital MID, touchscreen infotainment, ambient lighting, reclining seats, and an overall minimalist design. The Sierra EV is expected to debut in 2025.

There is no word on the pricing or the expected powertrain specifications on either of the upcoming EV SUVs.

Tata Tiago EV Blitz showcased

Tata has also showcased a special edition model of its recently launched Tata Tiago EV hatchback at the Auto Expo 2023. The special edition model is called the Tiago EV Blitz and the vehicle features cosmetic updates such as a skirt kit, blacked-out wheel arch cladding, a new pattern on the air dam, blacked-out trims, mirrors, and roof and a lighting badge for the ‘Blitz’ spec models. There are no mechanical changes which mean that it continues to get the Ziptron powertrain with a 24kWh battery paired with an electric motor that delivers a claimed range of 315km on the MIDC cycle.

The vehicle also supports 7.2kW fast charging and gets features such as leatherette perforated seats, auto climate control, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, power windows, cooled glove box, push button start stop, rear wash wipes and defogger, fog lamps, LED DRLs, projector headlamps, digital instrument cluster, a Harman sourced touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and an 8 speaker system. The Tiago EV has also secured 4 stars on the GNCAP tests and gets airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking camera and sensors.
