teams: Teams app now available on Microsoft Store – Times of India
Microsoft has finally brought its meetings app, Teams, to the app store on Windows 10 and Windows 11. You can just head over to the Microsoft app store on your Windows PC and download the Teams app to kick off your meetings instead of downloading it and then installing it manually.
Mik Chernomordikov, Group Program Manager at Microsoft, shared the news of Microsoft Teams coming to the app store. The app available on the Microsoft Store comes with no significant changes compared to its counterpart. However, on Windows 11, a user would only be able to use work and school accounts with the Teams downloaded from the app store. Meanwhile, on Windows 10, users can also use their personal accounts in addition to work and school accounts. Also, the Teams app downloaded from the app store would replace the already installed Teams from the website. The Teams app on the Microsoft app store is currently on version 1.5.00.11163, the same as the manually downloaded version.
Microsoft Teams was first announced in 2017, and it’s only now the app has made it to the Redmond giant’s app store for Windows. The company has been planning to streamline its productivity software suites for years now and as a result, we now have the Office Suite, Edge, Visual Studio and PowerToys available on the Microsoft app store.
The company is expected to announce some updates to the Teams at the upcoming Microsoft Build 2022 conference, scheduled from May 24 to May 26.
