The Batman- Matt Reeves Reveals Spinoff Show Connected to Gotham’s Arkham Asylum

We’re just a day away from the release of The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson as the latest iteration of the Dark Knight.

While fans are excited to watch a neo-noir detective tale featuring the Dark Knight, director Matt Reeves already has plans to expand his new Batverse with more projects.

Leading up to the release of the movie, Reeves shared several details about a potential sequel and spinoffs, which includes a show about both the Gotham City Police Department and the crime boss Penguin, who will be played by Colin Farrell in the upcoming movie.

While details about the two spinoff projects are quite bleak, it seems like Reeves already has another show on his mind, and this time, he might involve Gotham’s famous criminals from Arkham Asylum.

During a recent interview with The Toronto Sun, the director of movies like Cloverfield, shared some juicy details about his future endeavors with the Batverse, when he mentioned his plans for the spinoff shows.

Similar to the Superman lore surrounding the Phantom Zone, the Arkham Asylum contains some of Batman’s greatest rogues with characters such as the Joker, Scarecrow, and Harley Quinn being the mainstay.

With a show like this, the Batverse can be expanded to feature some of Batman’s lesser-known villains and give them the Matt Reeves treatment.

It’s unclear if the project will soon begin production. But fans are quite excited for Reeves’ vision with the Batverse, and they can’t wait to hear more about it.
