The Flash: Ezra Miller Returns to Shoot for a Day of Pickups Despite Recent Controversies
While Marvel Studios continue to drop more movies as part of the MCU, DC and Warner Bros. have been facing quite a lot of issues with its various projects.
On one hand, films like Batgirl have been cancelled due to tax writeoff reasons. On the other side, The Flash continues to face a lot of eyeballs due to the controversies surrounding the film’s leading star in Ezra Miller.
Over the last 12 months, the actor has found themselves facing legal issues, as Miller has been charged with harassment, felony burglary and more. Other than that, The Fantastic Beasts star has also been accused of grooming a non-binary teenager, while another case sees them being in trouble for housing weapons and weed in a house containing three kids and their mother.
Since then, the actor has been quiet over the last two months, with Miller apologizing for their actions. Furthermore, the Barry Allen actor has also confirmed that they will be undergoing treatment for their mental health issues despite all the legal troubles surrounding them.
Even with all these issues, the studio at Warner Bros. have decided to continue with the release of The Flash, which has been delayed quite a lot. According to The Wrap, Miller recently shot a day of pickups for the film, which arrives in theatres on June 23, 2023.
Despite all the legal troubles revolving around its leading actor, The Flash film has shown great responses among test audiences. The movie is inspired by the events of the Flashpoint comics, and along with Miller, the film stars Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle and Michael Keaton with the latter reprising his role as the Dark Knight.
