The Flash: Supergirl Actor Said It Meant the World to Her To Get Henry Cavill’s Stamp of Approval

Henry Cavill is no longer the Superman of the DC Universe, and that will be made certain in the upcoming The Flash movie. However, DC does have a new Supergirl played by Sasha Calle. The actor revealed that she recently met Cavill who gave her his stamp of approval as the Supergirl.

Supergirl and Superman

Calle revealed that she met the actor months after the movie was done shooting. She told EW, “I gave him a big hug. You know, it’s Henry Cavill, man! Our Man of Steel. He is kind and very proper, and it was a great experience.” She added that she asked Cavill a question, “Did I make you proud, cuz? Does Superman approve?” to which Cavill replied, “Absolutely. You did a phenomenal job.” Calle said it meant the world to her, “because it’s Henry Cavill, Man of Steel.”

That’s understandable, and a sentiment shared by a lot of DC fans. It was Henry Cavill who started the DCEU’s journey alongside Zack Snyder when the duo created Man of Steel. Cavill was largely accepted by the DC fans as their Superman, and Cavill was almost returning as well if it were not for the creative decision taken by James Gunn.

The Flash’s premise

Supergirl’s introduction in The Flash will be the result of Barry Allen going back in time to save his parents. Tapping into the Speed Force to do this changed the present and created a reality where all the present DCEU heroes were not there anymore, including Henry Cavill’s Superman. This alternate reality has Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and legendary Michael Keaton’s Batman squaring off against General Zod.
