‘The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey’ preview: What will happen next?
Apple TV+ has recently dropped The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey on their platform, which has received positive reviews from critics and audiences. The series stars Samuel L. Jackson as the title character and Dominique Fishback as Robyn, an orphaned girl who was kicked out of her family’s house and moved in with Grey.
Based upon the novel of the same name by Walter Mosely, the Apple TV+ series sees a dementia-riddled Grey struggle with the anxieties and pressures of his condition and the recent loss of his nephew Reggie. He also suffers from the loss of his wife and has constant flashbacks of her.
Here are a few theories of what the rest of the series may hold.

What to expect from future episodes of ‘Ptolemy Grey’
1) Side effects of medicine
Towards the end of the second episode, Grey is introduced to a new treatment that will help alleviate his dementia, and he will be able to have all of his memories back if the treatment is successful. This backfires when the trial period ends before twelve hours and causes Grey to plummet into a spiral back into his dementia-addled state.
It seems that by the end of the series, Grey will be more used to the drug and have a clearer sense of his awareness and a better life for himself.
2) Finding Reggie’s killer
After finding out that Grey’s nephew Reggie was murdered, Grey goes on a mission to find his nephew’s murderer. He asks around if anyone has heard of anything, but he gets vague elements to the shooting.
At the beginning of the first episode, Grey is seen making a recording in his house where another man is pounding on his door while Grey has his gun drawn, inviting the unknown figure in.
It seems that he has already found his nephew’s killer and has decided to take matters into his own hands.
3) The Death of Ptolemy Grey
What seems like the most obvious case for Jackson’s Grey is that he will most likely get killed himself. It appears that whoever was banging on his door at the beginning of the first episode was not visiting Grey for a friendly get-together. The implication is set to be the final climax for the characters, foreshadowing.
This, of course, raises more questions as to how Grey got to this point and why he became the pursued and not the pursuer. Only time will tell what fate lies ahead for the characters.
