The Little Mermaid live-action adaptation is now in theatres, and it has managed to win hearts of fans all around the world. The live-action adaption has received glowing reviews from critics as well as audiences. IGN also gave the movie 7/10 rating in its review while calling it “full of heart”.
Fans are also appreciating all the extra content that Disney has managed to bring in for the adaptation. However, there is one question in the head of many that haven’t watched the movie.

Post credit scene in The Little Mermaid
The movie has managed to catch fans by surprise and left them wanting more. Therefore, many are wondering whether the movie features a post credit scene. The short answer to this is no, the movie does not come with a post credits scene, like other Disney franchises including Star Wars and MCU. Hence, it does not seem like this live-action adaptation will get a sequel any time.
According to a report by Screenrant, it seems like Disney has already provided enough content to the fans in the latest adaptation. The live-action version has 52 minutes of additional content than the original. This is likely one of the reasons why there was no need to tease a sequel through a post credits scene.
The extra runtime of the movie allowed the film makers to wrap everything up in one movie. However, fans would have love to see an announcement for a spin-off series or something else related to the IP.
