The Mandalorian’s Big Cameos are Setting the Internet on Fire

Spoiler Warning: This article features spoilers for this week’s episode of The Mandalorian: Season 3 Episode 6. Actors and the characters they play are mentioned, but no specific plot details are shared.

Star Wars isn’t scared to recruit some famous faces to play its endless amount of characters, but this week’s episode of The Mandalorian features so many cameos that the internet is struggling to cope.

Though fans were quickly met with one famous pair, arguably the biggest cameo in the episode came as Christopher Lloyd’s long rumoured starring was finally revealed. The Back to the Future actor has moved from one sci-fi universe to the other, starring as Plazir-15’s head of security Commissioner Helgait.

Lloyd has been rumoured to make an appearance since March last year, though the actor has remained incredibly tight lipped about his appearance despite the constant pestering from fans.

The aforementioned power couple also drew plenty attention too, as none other than Jack Black made his Star Wars debut alongside pop star Lizzo. Playing the madly in love rulers of Plazir-15 — former Imperial Captain Bombardier and the Duchess respectively — the pair greet Din Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Grogu as they arrive on the planet.

The high profile cast has sent Reddit users into a tailspin, with dognose123 exclaiming “holy unexpected cameos” and bertobellamy saying “never in my life I thought I’d see them in Star Wars”.

In our 6/10 review of the episode, IGN said: “Things get very silly in Episode 6 of Season 3 of The Mandalorian as Bo-Katan and Din play good cop, bad cop on a planet ruled by Jack Black and Lizzo.”
