The Super Mario Bros. Movie juggernaut continues at the box office following a second successful weekend.

The second three-day weekend saw the film earning around $90 million, and the film has already crossed the $350 million mark at the American box office.

The second weekend performance has allowed the film to have the best performance for at the box office for an animated film, beating out Frozen 2, which earned around $86 million. The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s second week domestic performance also ranks seventh all-time, ahead of films like Top Gun: Maverick and Beauty and the Beast, and just below top franchise movies like The Avengers, Black Panther, and more.

According to box office analyst Luiz Fernando, the Mario-led film is projected to have a $570 million–$640 million run at the domestic box office.

Following two highly successful weeks at the global box office, the film has already earned over $678 million, as it eyes the lucrative $1 billion mark. The film’s popularity has also caused a rise in hype among the franchise’s games. According to Gamesindustry.biz, the UK charts now feature Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe in the 2nd, 5th and 10th positions, respectively.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie stars Chris Pratt as the voice of the iconic Italian plumber. Along with him, the film also stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Keegan Michael-Key, and Jack Black.
