The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Spinoff Debuts First Look Footage
AMC has shared an extended first look at its highly anticipated spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, offering viewers a glimpse of Norman Reedus’ titular character in a new European adventure.
The two-minute teaser debuted during a broadcast of The Walking Dead: Dead City, a separate spinoff centered around Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie. It gave us our best look yet at Daryl’s solo series, which will premiere sometime this fall.

The footage gives a sneak peek of Daryl’s journey as he treks across the various landscapes of a broken but resilient France, hoping to find a way back home. He stumbles upon a seemingly abandoned building sprawled with grafitti, which we see him entering before the clip ends.
“My name is Daryl Dixon,” Reedus’ character says in the teaser, speaking into a recorder. “I come from a place called the Commonwealth. It’s in America. I went out looking for something, and all I found was trouble. If I don’t make it back, I want ’em to know I tried. Hell, I’m still trying.”
While his journey looks extremely isolated in this first look footage, Morgan hinted on Twitter that Melissa McBride would be back as Carol Peletier even though Universal stated last year she wouldn’t be participating in the spinoff due to the logistics of shooting in Europe.
“Well well. We’re sorry Norman… fer talking oodles of s**t to you when we thought Melissa wasn’t doing show!” Morgan shared in a recent tweet. “Golly… this must of been in the works for ages! (Twas from start) Goddamn it’s great seeing these two together! Can’t wait!”
The flagship The Walking Dead series concluded in November after 11 seasons on air. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will premiere on AMC and AMC+ later this year, with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprising their roles as Rick and Michonne for another new spinoff series in 2024.
