The Walking Dead Rick and Michonne Spinoff Gets New Title and First Teaser

Today at San Diego Comic Con, we got a new look at the upcoming The Walking Dead spinoff series focused on Rick and Michonne, which now has a new title: The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

The teaser shown today is narrated by Michonne, who’s really been through it over the years and is seen in a sea of red, clearly plagued by the discovery that Rick Grimes, with whom she was in a serious relationship years before, is still alive. The two endeavor to find one another in the dangerous, ever-changing apocalyptic world.

We previously thought that the official title for this series was “The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne,” but it looks like that’s either been changed or that AMC was just making an official logo for a working title at the time. The series stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprising their roles from The Walking Dead, and it’s expected to kick off sometime next year. Most notably, we’re eager to find out what’s happened to Rick, who seemed to die in The Walking Dead season 9 but was revealed to be alive and in the hands of the Civic Republic Military in the series finale.

While we wait to find out what’s going on with Rick and Michonne, there’s still loads of The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon debuts September 10, and has already been renewed for a second season. And The Walking Dead: Dead City is gearing up for its season one finale on July 23. Additionally, Fear the Walking Dead will air its final six episodes starting on October 22.

We’ve already seen the entirety of The Walking Dead: Dead City, but found it to be just okay with a tighter, more focused story than the original The Walking Dead, but with an unsatisfying progression to Maggie and Negan’s relationship that isn’t improved even by an interesting new villain.
