On PS5 specifically, this update fixes an issue that would previously cause characters to appear blurry during cutscenes. Elsewhere, patch 4.02 fixes ray tracing crashes on Xbox Series X, while also addressing a pesky crashing issue tied to the “Whatsoever a Man Soweth… ” questline on current-gen systems.

The update isn’t specific to current-gen consoles and PCs, though. It also adds improvements to the last-gen versions, including a fix for Xbox One quicksave progression transfers. It also addresses issues with various quests such as “Battle Preparations,” “Reason of State,” and “Scavenger Hunt: Cat School Gear Upgrade Diagrams Part 1.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first launched for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2015, but later came to Nintendo Switch in 2019. Then, the Complete Edition launched for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles in late 2022, offering improved performance, visuals, and other new features.
