The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen Update Scheduled To Arrive on December 14

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is easily one of the most prominent titles of this generation. The game received fantastic reviews and astronomical popularity when it released, and even managed to bag Game of the Year in 2015. The game released on the previous generation of consoles, and many have been curious about what potential it could have with a next-gen update.

Soon enough, CD Projekt Red announced that they would be working on a next-gen update for the title, with Saber Interactive taking the wheel. Unfortunately, the update went through a series of delays, and CD Projekt Red decided to take over again.

This was a good switch for the fans, as they have finally announced the released date for the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen Update. Players can expect it to arrive on December 14, 2022. Additionally, the next-gen update will be free for any player who already owns the game. Inquisitive players can check out the gameplay reveal and other details about this update through their Twitch Stream, scheduled for next week.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Through this update, players can expect “dozens of visual, performance, and technical enhancements over the original”. These enhancements include ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, as well as a variety of mods integrated into the experience, among many others, as stated by CD Projekt Red through a press release.

The next-gen update will be released digitally first and will feature all free DLCs released to date, and both major expansions: Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine. A physical edition will follow right after, a release date for that will be announced soon.
