There Could Be a New Dragon Ball Super Anime Coming
The Dragon Ball Super series is in the limelight again after the release of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie worldwide. The series began with a manga by Akira Toriyama that started in June 2015 and is still ongoing. It was followed by an anime adaptation that started its run just a month later in July till March 2018 for a total of 131 episodes. The same year, the first movie in the series, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, was also released. Now, it seems like another anime is in the works for the Dragon Ball Super brand, and it could be a web anime.
Twitter user @DbsHype posted that in a TV calendar for 2023 which contains copyright listings, there is a mention of “2023 Dragon Ball Super Production Committee” which hints toward an anime in the works for the series. But it is entirely possible that this was printed in the calendar by mistake.
For people wondering what’s the sudden talk about Super, a TV Calender 2023 copyrights listing mentions“2023 Dragon Ball Super Production Committee”, if it’s a mistake or they actually meant to write it, we’ll find out soon.https://t.co/yc78Jcx3iF pic.twitter.com/gLXs6MsE7u

It wouldn’t be too surprising if the producers decide to come up with a new Dragon Ball Super anime now. The franchise is at an all-time high with the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, as it is performing really well in Japan and the USA box office. It would be the best time to release a web series based on Dragon Ball Super to cash in on the renewed interest from the movie.
1. WEB Anime in 2023. Likely not a continuation of ‘Super’. Eps will be <23mins. Produced as weekly eps, may change later. New staff.
Announcement soon.
I confused this w/TV anime earlier ????2. TV Anime later. Maybe in 2023 itself or 40th anniv, dunno.
More details later. https://t.co/TyJ38nLToM pic.twitter.com/wb2NotGTTL
