This common excuse will no longer work for missing out GMeet calls – Times of India

Google has introduced a new feature to Meet which makes it difficult for other participants to use poor connection as an excuse to leave the meeting. Google Meet admins can now view inbound and outbound bandwidth information of all participants. This information will make it easier for them to determine where a bandwidth bottleneck could be causing low quality.
In other words, admins will see a live graph of meeting participants’s connection bandwidth. They can use the graphs to view sent and received bandwidth, used bandwidth, and the bandwidth availability over time. Hovering over a data point will surface numerical readouts and exact timestamps.

Google says that knowing which bitrates are available or being used for specific endpoints is critical data when performing troubleshooting or working to improve call quality in your domain. Previously, this data was only available as an average across entire calls, which can make it difficult to narrow down problems during specific points in time. The data may look overwhelming for meetings with a higher number of users though.
The feature is available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers. It will be available to the users by default. To access the information, users can navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Google Meet > Meet quality tool from the Admin console. They can also search for a meeting code, organizer, or participant from the search bar to access the Meet quality tool.
