Threads by Instagram App Launched; Here Is How To Get Started on Meta’s New Text-Based Conversation App
Threads is a new app to share text updates and join conversations. This text-based app has been built by the Instagram team.
You can log in using your Instagram account, and carry your Instagram username over. You can still customize your profile differently from your Instagram account.
Posts on Threads can be up to 500 characters long and can also include links, photos, and videos. Videos can be up to 5 minutes in length.
To create a Thread, tap post icon at the bottom, enter a text, and tap Add to thread. Texts with more than 500 characters will add another thread automatically with the extra text moving on to the next thread. Tap Post in the bottom right to upload your Thread.
To attach a photo or video to your thread, you have to tap attach icon. You can select up to 10 items you wish to attach. You can share threads directly to Instagram stories, feeds, and other apps.
Deleting a thread with other people’s replies will not delete their replies.
You can take part in conversations by replying to other people’s threads. Threads team has highlighted that people with private profiles whom you do not follow, their replies may not be visible to you.
Meta has announced that they plan to make Threads part of the fediverse which is a social network of different social media applications.
