Three MSC Football Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-America Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Three Mid-South Conference football student-athletes earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Team honors, the national organization announced Tuesday.
Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Eli Cross and Joe Gressette and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Myles Simon all earned first-team honors.
To be eligible for this award a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.30. They also have played in at least 50% of its team’s games as well as be a contributor on the field. There are 26 student-athletes on the Academic All-America list.
Cross is a graduate student with a 4.0 grade point average working towards his MBA. Gressette is a graduate student majoring in Counseling and Human Development with a 3.88 GPA. Cross and Gressettee anchored a Lindsey Wilson offensive line that allowed just 22 sacks in 12 games and averaged 340.3 yards per game.
Simon is a senior Accounting/Business Administration major with a 3.89 GPA. He recorded 33 tackles with a team-high 8.5 sacks in nine games for the Patriots. Simon tied for second on the team with 12 tackles for loss. His 8.5 sacks led the conference while his tackles for loss were tied for fifth in the MSC.
