The Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA) 2021 awards ceremony will be held on October 14. Ahead of the ceremony the jury meet was held in the capital.
The evaluation period for TOISA 2021 was from January 1 to December 31, 2021. All achievements during this time period were considered by the jury.

Achinta Sheuli is a young and upcoming weightlifting player from India, who is making a transition from the junior level to the senior level. He won a silver medal at the 2021 Junior World Championships with a total lift of 313kg – 141kg in snatch and 172kg in clean & jerk. Achinta capped the year with a gold medal at the Commonwealth Championships in Tashkent, lifting a total of 316kg – 143kg snatch and 173kg clean & jerk. It was his second Commonwealth Championships gold, after winning it in 2019 too in Apia, Samoa.
For his achievements in 2021, Achinta has been nominated in The Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA 2021) ‘Weightlifting Male Player of the Year’ category. The award winners, male and female, in the last edition of TOISA were Saikhom Mirabai Chanu and Sathish Sivalingam.
The other notable performances in 2021 by the young Achinta were — 7th place finishes at the senior World Championships (316kg) and Asian Championships (309kg).
