Tom Brady jokes fan who gave back TD pass No. 600 ‘lost all of his leverage,’ will get Bitcoin
The football Tom Brady threw for career touchdown pass No. 600 on Sunday almost didn’t get back to TB12 because Mike Evans, the receiver who caught it, mistakenly handed it to a Buccaneers fan sitting in the front row of Raymond James Stadium. A team representative rushed over to negotiate a trade with the fan, Byron Kennedy.
Kennedy wound up with a lot for the ball, but Brady — who’s appreciative of the historic pigskin being returned — kidded Monday night that he could have done better.

“Byron realized he lost all of his leverage once he gave the ball away,” Brady said during his spot on the Peyton and Eli Manning ESPN2 megacast of the Saints-Seahawks “Monday Night Football” game. “He should have held it and then get as much leverage as possible.”
“Amateur move on his part,” Peyton Manning said.
It appears Kennedy will do just fine, thanks to Brady.

“I’m also giving him a Bitcoin” in addition to what the Buccaneers are giving him, Brady told the Mannings. One Bitcoin was trading for $62,943 as of Monday night. Brady has an equity stake in cryptocurrency company FTX and has filmed TV ads for it with his wife, Gisele Bundchen.
“At the end of the day I think he’s still making out pretty well,” Brady said.
Look for Brady to make out well, too. He said the ball will go up for bid as an NFT on Autograph.io.
The Tampa Bay Times laid out what the 29-year-old Kennedy will receive from the Bucs:
The Bucs on Monday said they are giving Kennedy two signed jerseys and a helmet from Brady, a signed Evans jersey, Evans’ game cleats, a $1,000 credit at their team store and two season passes for the remainder of this season, as well as next season.

Kennedy, who is a resident at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Fla., knew exactly what Evans had placed it in his hands.
“I was hesitant to give it back,” he told the Times.
