Laptop, tablet import restricted in India
It was reported that the Indian government was restricting the import of laptops, tablets, and PCs in the country as a means to promote local manufacturing. What this meant was that PC from brands like Apple, Dell, Lenovo, and more that are pre-built or fully assembled outside India cannot be imported to the country without a license. However, this restriction won’t come into effect until November 1st, 2023, the government announced on Friday.
iPhone 15 launch date tipped
Apple iPhone 15 launch could take place on September 13th. The speculation comes from US mobile carriers preparing for a major phone announcement on the same day. Apple usually launches its new iPhones in September so the tip could be accurate. Apple’s next-gen iPhone lineup is expected to feature the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Nothing’s new brand ‘CMF’
Nothing announced a new brand called “CMF”. CMF by Nothing will launch products, “that makes better design more accessible to a wider group of consumers.” It has also confirmed that the first smartwatch and earbuds from CMF will launch later this year. Based on what Nothing has revealed so far, CMF will focus on design for its product lineup similar to the parent company.
Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale starts
Amazon Great Freedom Festival sale started today for everyone in India. The sale went live early for Prime members yesterday. It’s a five-day sale that will continue until August 9th. Here, Amazon is offering discounts and offers on products across categories. Popular categories like smartphones are available with up to 40 percent off during this sale. The iPhone 14 is also up for grabs with a discount of almost Rs 13,000.
Only dark mode for X soon
Twitter, now X, has been going through its biggest changes with a complete redesign. Another change that’s coming soon to the platform is a dark mode-only default setting. Musk confirmed this in a reply to a user on X. “It is better in every way,” Musk added. At present, you can choose between three display options including the standard white background, dark mode, and a dark grayish one.
