Tottenham ‘decide next signing’ after agreeing Micky van de Ven personal terms

Tottenham are reportedly set to open talks with Fulham over the permanent signing of Tosin Adarabioyo after the club agreed personal terms with Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven. Ange Postecoglou is now prioritising defensive reinforcements after wrapping up the acquisitions of Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison with Manor Solomon also on the way.

Tottenham’s summer business was undoubtedly a slow burner but the club are now firing on all cylinders in the transfer market following the appointment of their new Aussie head coach.

Spurs’ top defensive target is Van de Ven and it appears a deal with Wolfsburg is now advancing following the personal terms agreement with the player and his reps.

Now Foot Mercato anticipate that Tottenham will be moving for Adarabioyo on a permanent deal as the 25-year-old prepares to leave Fulham.

Adarabioyo is now in the final year of his Craven Cottage contract meaning he could be available for a cut-price.

The ex-Manchester City academy starlet began to lose his place in Marco Silva’s side last season and now he is prepared to embark on a new challenge.

Spurs want to open talks with Fulham to determine what kind of price they are looking for as they prepare to sell the speedy centre-back.

In the past, Monaco have also shown interest in Adarabioyo and Tottenham are not believed to be the only club in contention for his signature.

Spurs also remain interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba but he is currently thought to be more expensive than both Van de Ven and Adarabioyo.

Wolfsburg are looking for around £30million to part company with the 22-year-old Dutchman, who has emerged as one of the best young defenders in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham are beginning to reshape their defensive options and the future of Eric Dier is currently in doubt.

Dier returned to Hotspur Way early to get himself in shape and he wants to remain with the club but Postecoglou could now move the player on.

Davinson Sanchez is also set to depart with Villarreal and Fenerbahce among those keen on the Colombian.

Sanchez endured a nightmare season last term and was even booed off by his own supporters in the 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth.

Despite a promising start to life in north London following his 2017 transfer from Ajax, Sanchez has failed to live up to expectations at Spurs.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is still hopeful Tottenham could yet sign Clement Lenglet from the Catalan giants.

The Frenchman has returned to Barcelona following his loan spell in England but Tottenham have been told an agreement is there to be struck should they wish to sign Lenglet permanently.
