The Wellington Phoenix men are facing a busy couple of weeks after the A-League announced a new schedule as they try to catch up games lost to Covid.

The Phoenix will play five times in 14 days in a bid to try and catch-up on games postponed in December and January.

They will start the ‘February Football Frenzy’ by playing Macarthur FC at Campbelltown Stadium in Sydney on Sunday, February 6.

Ufuk Talay’s side will then play the first of two mid-week matches on Wednesday, February 9 against Melbourne Victory in Wollongong before hosting Brisbane Roar at a yet to be determined venue the following Wednesday.

Their weekend fixtures against Adelaide United and Sydney FC will remain on their original dates, but venues and kick-off times have been finalised for the ‘home’ matches.

The Saturday kick-offs against Adelaide and Sydney FC on February 12 and February 19 will now be played at two Sydney Stadiums.

The men will round out the month against Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, February 27 in Parramatta.

The A-Leagues have also advised the Phoenix women’s round 12 A-League match against Adelaide United has been brought forward from Saturday, February 19 to Thursday, February 17.

It will be played at the women’s home away from home in Wollongong.

They will start the month against Melbourne Victory in Wollongong tomorrow night and their round 11 and 13 fixtures against Canberra United and Western Sydney remain as originally scheduled.

In total 60 A-League matches are scheduled to be played in February, with football on six days a week.
