Transfer news LIVE as Man Utd plot £88m swoop, Liverpool chase quartet

Another busy summer transfer window could be on the cards in the Premier League this year, with several clubs already thought to be putting the wheels in motion by drawing up their respective plans of attack for the pre-season market. The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are set to be among the division’s biggest players once again when the bidding opens and plenty of rumours have already been flying around with the business end of the campaign now in full swing.

United are thought to be in the market for a new first-choice striker to succeed Wout Weghorst, who is set to return to Burnley at the end of his six-month loan spell at Old Trafford. Several big-name players have already been linked with the Red Devils, who are expected to be in the running for some of Europe’s most prolific marksmen between now and the start of next season.

Chelsea, meanwhile, were the Premier League’s biggest spenders last summer and have reportedly kickstarted another expensive recruitment drive by agreeing a deal to sign Ecuadorian wonderkid Kendry Paez from Independiente del Valle. The 15-year-old midfielder is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young players in South America and is said to be poised to join the Blues when he turns 18 in 2026.
